Marni Folsom

Write. Edit. Rinse. Repeat.

I write in a tiny corner in the Pacific Northwest, strategically located at the base of my laundry pile and in the fine company of a baby boy, a toddler girl, a little black dog, and a burly artistic husband.

When I’m not sorting and folding, I write like the wind, eat too much cheese and chocolate, and participate in all sorts of rituals aimed at publishing a novel. Only two of these activities are particularly good for me and they are the focus of this blog (but I’ll surely mention cheese and chocolate on occasion).

In my non-writing life, I’ve enjoyed over 17 years in business and administrative services in the software development industry. I’ve had the pleasure of working for Fortune 100 companies, start-ups, and everything in between, which gives me a “Jill of All Trades” perspective that comes in handy when writing various characters. I studied British Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Arizona, and later studied Education and Writing & Critical Thinking at Antioch University.

Why do I write romance? Because I believe that love is timeless, that hope is a good thing, and that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a happy ending. I also know that romantic fiction authors absolutely rock as far as supporting each other goes, and the genre is chock-full of opportunities to exercise an incredible level of creativity.
